Dance Without Pain
Private Alexander Technique study in Bountiful, Utah, serving dancers throughout Salt Lake City and the Wasatch Front.
Movement Training at the Highest Level
Alexander Technique is taught at Juilliard, Yale, University of Utah, and other serious performing-arts programs because professional performers need exceptional coordination, freedom, and awareness of their bodies.
It is high-level movement work—but it should not be reserved for elite performers.
If you dance, your body is your instrument too.
Whether you do Zumba, ballet, tango, ballroom, contemporary, or simply dance for the love of it, this work can help you understand unnecessary tension, improve coordination, and find more ease in the body you move with.
Especially when pain starts getting in the way.
You do not have to be a professional dancer to deserve professional-level care for your body.
12 Lessons to Recalibrate Your Body
Don't let pain end the dance.
You may simply know that:
- Your feet hurt after a night of dancing.
- High heels hurt or feel harder on your feet, knees, hips, or back than they used to.
- Your knees hurt or no longer feel trustworthy when you pivot and turn.
- Your back hurts during dancing or tightens afterward.
- You are beginning to avoid certain steps—or dancing altogether—because you are afraid something will hurt.
Over 12 lessons, we look at the whole pattern underneath those experiences and help your body find another way to move.
The goal is not simply less pain. It is more of your body available for dancing.
A Rare Kind of Education
Alexander Technique isn't mystical or woo-woo. It's a practical, hands-on education in how you experience and use your body.
Alexander Technique is NOT:
- A massage or medical treatment.
- A collection of exercises or stretches.
- A method of forcing yourself into perfect posture.
- Energy healing or mystical work.
So What Is It?
It's the study of the quality of your life.
Alexander Technique develops a richer, more intimate relationship with yourself. You begin to notice the extraordinary complexity of ordinary things: standing, walking, breathing, reaching, or simply being with another person.
It's more than being mindful. It's an active, curious, and often exciting process of discovery.
As your sensitivity grows, so does your appreciation. Familiar movements become fascinating. Small changes become meaningful. You discover possibilities in yourself that you never thought to look for.
The ordinary becomes extraordinary.
Ease Is Beauty.
As you learn to interfere less with your natural coordination, movement can become easier, freer, and more expressive.
And there is something unmistakably beautiful about a person who moves with ease.
That's what we study. Not just how to move better, but how to experience more of life through the body you already have.
